What Lumen keeps, and what it sends.
Last updated 28 October 2026.
The short version
- Lumen has no ads and no third-party trackers.
- Your save stays on your own device.
- Anonymous play statistics are sent only if you switch them on. They're off until you do.
Your save
On the web, your progress is kept in your browser's local storage. In the desktop version, it's a file in the app's own folder on your computer (and in Steam Cloud, if you play through Steam). Nobody else can see it. You can copy it out, paste it back in or delete it from Settings in the game.
Anonymous play statistics
When you first start the game you can tick a box to share anonymous statistics, and you can turn them on or off at any time in Settings. They help answer questions like "how long does it take to reach level 50?" and "where do people get stuck?"
If you switch them on, the game sends:
- A random ID made on your device when you first play. It isn't linked to your name, email or any account.
- What happens in the game, with a timestamp: levels gained, things unlocked and crafted, fights started and finished, travellers helped, and similar milestones.
- How long you've played, the game version, the language you play in, and whether you're on the web or desktop version.
It doesn't send your name, your email, your save file, or anything from outside the game. The server that receives the statistics doesn't store your IP address.
If you switch statistics off, nothing more is sent from that moment.
